Back in the late 70’s, these cottages were the first to be converted from barns into cottages here at Docklow. So, they not only have a lot nostalgia to us, they also offer lots of charm and character. Set in a 17th century converted barn, they feel like country cottages, with oak beams and stone walls, not plaster board and spotlights.
The pair of them aren’t the biggest cottages in the world, but they work perfectly, for someone on their own or an understanding couple.
That said they have everything, apart from a shower inside (it’s a bath), compared to other places here.
Cosy, Mill and Willow are charming little cottages set in the Courtyard Mews.Â
Mill and Cosy cottages are the smallest cottages we offer, so it’s a popular choice for single occupancy.
The ground floor is an open plan kitchen and lounge area. The lounge contains a comfortable sofa and chair, Freeview television and gas fire. The kitchen is equipped with electric cooker, fridge, microwave, and utensils. Upstairs is a traditional double bed room overlooking the countryside, and a bathroom with bath, basin and WC. A fishing tackle lock up to secure gear etc is close by. Each are heated through conventional economy 7 heating arrangements, and are heated by traditional gas fires.
Willow Cottage is available for short 3-day breaks in Summer season.

Docklow Pools 533 Google reviewsPosted on Brian HynesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have visited Docklow Pools many times and it is always brilliant. Due to go again on 20th June for a week. Although I booked a ticket on Major Bill pool unfortunately I was unable to do any fishing on my last trip. Enduring Stage 4 cancer for the past 5 years the trial drug Adagrasib is keeping me stable but not cured. Side effects are total exhaustion amongst various others. Sitting on a fishing chair has not been an option for me. I hope to give it a go in June. Looking on the bright side I am still here and the lads are looking forward to my cooking. Where do I start, what a place this is a fishermans heaven, the place is pristine and the lakes are extremely looked after with a massive range to fish for literally covers for everything you could go for. The venue has the most amazing, helpful staff you could ever meet a big shout out for o'darie (hope i spelt your name right) what an absolute merit she is to this company and an amazing host and also the other team members we talked to, they all make you feel welcome and willing to go the extra mile. And 5* to the chef the food was amazing good old fashioned homey food. Me and my brother will certainly be returning very soon thankyou all for giving us an amazing weekend of memories.Posted on eirlys jonesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The owner of the complex, Jonathan, i found to be ever willing to help and assist with any queries or requests directly, taking ownership and ensuring all your needs were catered for. Also the staff were friendly and supportive and very approachable. The cabin itself was extremely clean and well presented. The décor is a little dated, but in keeping with the beautiful surroundings Docklow Pools presents. The cabin was lovely and a home from home. Just a couple of niggles: 1. No internet. The complex is on a geographical dip. I could only find ONE BAR on the Three network. The main complex is serviced by a Starlink satellite internet service, but the area where my cabin was, like i say, of the four UK mobile networks, only Three had a service of just one bar. Jonathan was supportive.. he explained that a lot of their customers are men who want to go fishing on be 'off-grid' and 'not contactable'. While i understand that, in today's world one can always turn their phone off - and let their spouse/family know they will be doing this.. so i see no real reason for not supplying an internet connection to the cabins - it was a real pain in the rear for me as i had planned to do some work/study over my stay. Jonathan again kindly offered me an office in the main complex, but that just have worked as lugging all my paraphernalia there and back most days would be unrealistic. In the end i had to purchase (on the advise of someone Jonathan put me in touch with) a router which takes a sim card with screw on antennas. I then had to take out an unlimited data sim contract with Three. Just annoying to have to do in this day and age. 2. Freeview only There was an old Skybox, but the card wasn't recognised and you could only access the free channels. In the end i had to run a HDMI from my laptop, which was connected to the router, to access other channels. Highly recommend Docklow Pools.. great staff, location, accommodation and food... just behind on technology..
