River Wye Fishing

We delighted to announce that on the 29th March 2011, we’ve purchased an additional stretch of the River Wye to support the first piece up at Bridge Sollars. So now we’re able to boast not only a fabulous mile on the River Teme, but also brilliant river fishing North and South of Hereford on the beautiful and profilic River Wye.

Dave Harrell coaching feedback page which confirms how great our stretch is: http://www.daveharrellangling.com/coaching

These two fantastic, prolific and beautiful parts of River Wye fishing are exclusive fishing rights for Docklow Pools residents and members only. There are no matches or day tickets. Its soul purpose or purchase if you like is for Docklow anglers to come and enjoy….and we know you will. Not only have there been great catches yet also returns to say how much they enjoyed the easy parking, comfortable access and the sheer peace and quiet of the Herefordshire countryside.

In the winter time, a weekend B&B stay is quiet popular for anglers looking to do some “trotting” or piking even. Docklows Rotherwas stretch has had pike photographed and recorded up to 28lbs although up stream in Hereford town part they can go bigger still. And thats only meters away. At Lulham, that lovely piece of water regularly has produced the goods over the last 15 years or so on big pike, as shown below.

In season (June 16th onwards), the River Wye fishing is now one of the most sort after rivers in the country, taking over from the Severn and Avon. Both Rotherwas and Lulham have been excellent for barbel. Lots of them, great condition and good sizes too. The one thing we wont apologies for is the fight they give…..so many anglers have said afterwards that a Wye barbel are so strong and the resistance is incredible. Only you know the answer to that…..

Great for some winter piking and River Wye Fishing…..
