The Major Bill - Specimen Lake @ Docklow Pools 

The Major Bill specimen lake at Docklow is one of the finest and sort after pools in the country. Boasting cat fish recorded at 67lbs+, Carp up to 30lbs.

We have 40 priviledged members who belong to the Major Bill synidcate, (with a healthy waiting list) plus weekly holiday makers who use the specimen pool at Docklow.

• In addition to this we offer a Limited weekly ticket offering (Monday to Friday) for a limited anglers to fish the pools.
• Weekly tickets are £100 for the week, booked in advance.
• Three Day, (No weekends, as this is mostly when members fish) are £75 between Monday to Friday 
• Shower facilities are available
• Day tickets arent available
• 22 Pegs on the pool

• This is not a new arrangement, as Docklow has been running this opportunity since the pool began, however we did "quieten" broadcasting it in 2010 and 2011. But its Back!!!

Rules

• Anglers Must be 18 years old +
• Anglers must have the correct equipment including 42inch landing net, unhooking mat and no match tackle to be used.
• No shows, litter louts, barbed hooks, live baiting will all be banned
• Session starts at 8am Monday Morning (Tackle Shop opens) to Friday 4pm (Tackle shop closes)

• Our prime business is weekly holidays

• B&B is £199 per person per week in peak season and will consider short breaks from October through to April
• Fisherman lodge for the week starts at £419 for the week with only a £50 double rod ticket required
• Cottages and other properties are for couples only

The cats are growing and breeding like crazy in the Major Bill. Theres so many of them now its quite amazing. They range from small boot laces obviously right up to late 60's as recorded below by Steve Cook from Essex. British record was 62lbs. Unfortunately for Steve the record was withdrawn some time ago. Our fish is 100% home grown!

We believe the Major Bill to be THE best Cat fish pool in the Uk. Thats our opinion which is shared by guests and members who enjoy this beautiful lake.

Presently there are 39 members who can fish the Major Bill pool. There is a long waiting list which is to be expected. With subscriptions reasonably priced very few members drop out. If they do its a real problem to get back in! That said its predominated aimed at weekly residents who stay in our accomodation.

If youre interested in fishing the Major Bill then the very easiest way to do it is come on a weeks holiday. We charge just £50 for a double ticket for the week.

The waiting list for membership is quite considerable and refreshed once a year. Its appropriate to outline that anglers not known to us wont be considered. You must be known to us to at least get on the waiting  list. Even then you could be in for a wait.
